week one.

I've officially made it through week one of my second semester at school. I'm taking His 132, which covers the second part of American History - from the late 1800's till now. & I'm rather excited about it too. I've got a different professor than the one I had last semester & he teaches completely different. I don't know if I'm going to enjoy the class as much as I did last semester. Oh well, it's still interesting. & I'm taking a math. :( stupid math 80. yes, I'm dumb when it comes to math. I hate it. But, it must be done. It's a 2+ hr long class, and the teacher's perfume smells awful. it gives me a headache. hopefully, i can stay with it & do well in this class. atleast i'm able to use a calculator. -- i had to buy one. the TI-83 - it was 140$. ouch.

i'm taking online classes too. english & sociology. i was signed up for a word processing class, but i dropped it. it'll just be busy work & take up my time to work on my other classes. i'm going to need all the free time i possibly can get to work on my other classes. & i'm shooting for all A's this semester. i refuse to get a B by one point again.

the house is still clean! i'm not going to get behind in that category either. gavin & i washed dishes last night. he's such a big helper. he gets mad when we're finished though. he'd rather stand in the chair & play in the water.

it's going to be pretty today & that makes me so happy. i need pretty days. it was semi warm yesterday so gavin & i spent most of the afternoon outside. it was wonderful. i can't wait for spring. i need to get to the store & purchase some bulbs to plant so i'll have a pretty yard this spring.

ahh i guess that's it for today. byyyes.

absence

I have neglected my blog. I've been so swamped with schoolwork, housework, and gavin-work, that I really haven't had the time to update anything about my life.

So, I finished my first semester of college! I mean, I've only attempted it, what? Three times!? Yea, I'm pretty proud of myself for doing a great job. I got 3 A's and 2 B's! GO me! Spring semester starts this Thursday. So, I'll be back to the grind come Friday. ( I still don't understand why they have the begining of a semester on a Thursday?)

The holidays were great. Gavin thoroughly enjoyed himself. & I thoroughly enjoyed him! His eyes were sooo big Christmas morning when he saw what Santa had left. I don't think Santa could have done any better than what he did. Gavin loves his train table/set. It's pretty awesome. Granted, the actual train set stayed together for about two days... then Gavin learned he could take them apart. Eventually, I just took the whole train apart and put it away in the drawer. Picking up train tracks & putting them back together forty times a day... gets rather old! Gavin and I both enjoyed spending time with our family for the holidays. He had a ball out at my moms. I got to see Briana & the boys! Good times, indeed. I made my first pecan pie (and gave it to my neighbor, i hope it was good!) & I made my first ever homemade chocolate chip cookies :) yummmmy.

Gavin got to experience his first SNOW! I'm no fan of cold weather & snowflakes, but I must say it was quite entertaining to watch my booderball try walking in snow. I don't think he cared for it too much - I think he's gonna be like his mama :) A beach bum!

Since I've been on break, I have managed to clean the entire house. Yes, the kitchen still gets dirty daily ( I wish I could find a way to avoid that all together) I went through ALL of Gavin's clothes & took about 10 bags to Goodwill. I finally cleaned his bedroom, got his crib into his toddler bed, rearraged his entire room - cleaned behind the stove, couches, fridge - I mean, I did some serious cleaning! I just hope that when I start back school, I can keep a clean house, straight A's and a happy baby.

I mean, there is no way I'd be able to update everything since June/July. We did have Gavin's first bday. It was wonderful.

I find myself looking at Gavin throughout the day and wondering how on earth he is growing so fast. I mean, it really does seem like yesterday that I was in the hospital going through hell to get him here. He's got 18 teetherrrs & two poking through. He's jabbing away at the mouth, constantly. His vocabulary includes: that, this, shoes, socks, mama, daddy, buuuck, nooo!, book, brush, bath, two, milk, ball, fish... and a bunch more that i can't quite make out. He's so smart! He knows what sounds go with what animals. My favorite would have to be the elephant. Hearing him make the elephant noise, makes me smile. He knows the choochoo and airplanes, and where his nose, ears, eyes, belly & toes are. He's recently started to become quite attached to Woodstock, Snoopy's bird friend... and on and on and on.

Anywho, time to get started on this pile of dishes. tootle-loooo.
